Reservations and Accommodations

WILL I GET A CALL WHEN MY CAR ARRIVES?

As a courtesy to our customers we do attempt to contact all our customers when their drivers are on location. However, we are not always able to contact passengers upon a driver’s arrival due to heavy call volume.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE FLIGHT PICK-UP?

Upon arrival at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW – Ft Myers, Fl), collect all your baggage on the lower level first. Only after collecting all your luggage, call 239-945-2222 to have your vehicle quickly dispatched from the holding area to the terminal. (Don’t worry, we will be waiting close by). You will be asked which of the six doors you will be exiting. Please locate your driver to the right of the door your exiting in 3-5 minutes. Look for a vehicle with PINE ISLAND TAXI.

Children

Florida Law requires your child be in a car seat. Parents need to bring appropriate car seating for children. We do carry booster seats, please reserve the number of boosters required. We can not leave the curb unless all parties are secure. For current Florida law, see this State of Florida website.

Large Groups

Will a trailer be needed to accommodate your luggage? Groups of 8 or more with luggage, a trailer is usually required. Larger parties we need to know how much luggage and groceries you intend to bring on arrival to assess if a van is adequate or more storage is required. Additional fee for a trailer.

Luggage

Pack Light! Smaller uniform bags are most convenient. The HUGE/OVERSIZED/OVERWEIGHT bags are difficult for everyone. Your luggage has to be loaded, unloaded, packed, stored and toted in and out of tight spots and numerous vehicles during your stay. Please be considerate. Check, but most places you stay have laundry capabilities.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE FLIGHT DROP OFF?

Reservations

Book your reservations as soon as possible to ensure service on the dates and times you desire. Please confirm departure 24 hours in advance to eliminate time changes. When doing so, make sure you do it under the original reservation name. Cancellations require 24 hour notice or you will be charged.

Travel Time

Please allow 1½ hours prior to departure plus 30-45 minutes travel time depending upon your quadrant of Cape Coral. International flights require you to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight.

Large Groups

HOW MUCH IS REQUIRED TO MAKE A RESERVATION?

Cape Coral Taxi suggests that you book a reservation 24 hours in advance to ensure a car will be available. However, we can often provide unscheduled pickups.  You may call us for same-day availability.

HOW MUCH IS REQUIRED TO CANCEL A RESERVATION?

Cape Coral Taxi requests that our customers cancel their reservations at least 6 hours in advance for Ft. Myers (RSW) and Punta Gorda (PGD) pickups, and 24 hours in advance for pick-ups outside Lee County FL.

Cancellations made after the requested time-frames are subject to fees.

MAY I MAKE A LAST MINUTE CHANGE TO MY RESERVATION?

Cape Coral Taxi attempts, to the best of its ability, to accommodate last minute changes.

If you would like to make a change to your reservation, please notify us of your change at least 6 hours in advance for Ft. Myers and Punta Gorda (PGD) pick-ups and at least 6 hours in advance for pick-ups outside of Lee County FL.

FOR AIRPORT SERVICE, MUST I RESERVE IN ADVANCE? HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO PICK ME UP?

Cape Coral Taxi cannot generally provide unscheduled airport pickups. Please call us once you have landed to check our availability. If you would like to ensure availability, we recommend that you book a car in advance. It takes approximately 3-5 minutes for the driver to pull up to your terminal.

CAN THE DRIVER ASSIST WITH MY BAGS INSIDE THE AIRPORT?

Unfortunately, drivers are unable to leave their vehicles unattended. The drivers will be pleased to assist with your luggage from the front of your building to the vehicle.

Safety, Car Seats and Luggage Capacity

MUST I WEAR A SEAT BELT WHEN I RIDE WITH CAPE CORAL TAXI?

Yes. Cape Coral Taxi affiliated vehicles are for-hire vehicles. Therefore, Cape Coral Taxi highly encourages all riders to buckle their seatbelts while traveling.

MUST MY CHILD BE IN A SAFETY/BOOSTER SEAT?

Yes. Infants and young children are required by law to be in a safety/booster seat.

Cape Coral Taxi recommends that parents bring a child safety/booster seat for the child’s safety.

DOES CAPE CORAL TAXI SUPPLY INFANT OR BOOSTER SEATS?

Safety is our top concern at Cape Coral Taxi, with over $1,200.00 invested in all new car seats within the last 6 months.

We charge $5.00 Infant (rear-facing); Toddler (forward-facing) to cover our frequent cost of replacement.* Far cheaper than checking your seat as luggage!
Booster seats are Complimentary.

Little known fact: child car seats have a expiration date and should never be reused after being in an auto accident.

Some companies offer free car seats that were picked up cheep at some garage sale and who knows where else? Cape Coral Taxi only buys new child safety seats.

Installation
By Florida Statute:  installation of the seat in the vehicle is the sole responsibility of parent.

Florida Statute 316.613 ; ….. (6) The child restraint requirements imposed by this section do not apply to a chauffeur-driven taxi, limousine, sedan, van, bus, motor coach, or other passenger vehicle if the operator and the motor vehicle are hired and used for the transportation of persons for compensation. It is the obligation and responsibility of the parent, guardian, or other person responsible for a child’s welfare, as defined in s. 39.01(47), to comply with the requirements of this section.

WHAT ARE THE PASSENGER AND LUGGAGE CAPACITIES OF THE VARIOUS VEHICLES?

Executive Town Car: 4 passengers and typical personal luggage for each.

Van: 10-14 passengers. If you have 8 or more passengers, a luggage trailer is usually required and can be hired at an additional charge.

Mini-Bus: 34 passengers with typical day’s worth of carry-ons. If you are bringing luggage for all 34 passengers, you will need to hire the luggage trailer.

Motorcoach: 51 passengers with personal luggage.

All Vehicles

Obviously, if you are not using all the passenger seats, there will be extra room for luggage. If you aren’t sure, we will be happy to let you know what the best deal for your group is.

If you will be bringing excess equipment, (e.g. camping gear, sports equipment), please let us know so we can be prepared. You may need to add a luggage trailer to your reservation.

Special Needs

WILL CAPE CORAL TAXI CARRY A SERVICE DOG?

Yes. When booking a reservation, please be sure to tell one of our phone agents that you will be traveling with a service dog so that we can accommodate you.

HOW OLD MUST MY CHILD BE TO TRAVEL ALONE?

Minors must be at least 16 years of age to travel alone.

MAY I BRING A PET IN A CAPE CORAL TAXI VEHICLE?

Yes, Cape Coral Taxi can accommodate dogs, cats, and small pets. With the exception of service dogs, any animal over 25 lbs. must ride in a minivan or van. All animals must be leashed or in a carrier when traveling in a Cape Coral Taxi vehicle.

We request that when traveling with a pet, you notify a reservationist in advance so that Cape Coral Taxi can accommodate you. Please note that if you fail to notify a reservationist that you are traveling with a pet, the driver reserves the right to refuse to transport the pet.

DOES CAPE CORAL TAXI PROVIDE HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE VEHICLES?

Sorry, not at this time.

Payment / Tolls / Parking / Cost

HOW MUCH ARE TOLLS?

Tolls depend on the route taken to get to your destination. You can use the State of Florida toll rate calculator to get an idea of how much tolls are.

DOES THE FARE INCLUDE A TIP?

No. The fare does not include tip, waiting time or additional stops.

WHEN DO PARKING FEES APPLY?

Parking fee applies when you request meet & greet service at the airport.

Parking fees range from $3 to $10.

HOW CAN I PREPAY FOR A RESERVATION?

You pay pre-pay for a reservation by phone (239) 945-2222 or at our headquarters by cash or credit card.

CAN I GET A RECEIPT WHEN I PAY IN CASH?

Yes. Your driver will provide you with a cash receipt in the vehicle at the end of your trip. You may also call our office at 239-945-2222 Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm and request that a receipt be faxed or e-mailed to you.

MAY I PAY WITH A PERSONAL OR BUSINESS CHECK?

No, we do not accept checks. We accept cash, all major credit cards, including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

IS TIPPING MANDATORY? IS THERE A SET PERCENTAGE I MUST TIP?

When traveling in a Sedan, Luxury Sedan, Mini-Van or 14-Passenger Van, the gratuity is at the discretion of the passenger. It is customary to tip a driver 15%-20%.

The fare quoted by a reservationist or on our website does not include the tip amount.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TOLLS INCURRED DURING MY TRIP?

Passengers are responsible for any toll charges outside the state of Florida. Upon arrival at your destination, your driver will inform you of the additional toll charge.

DOES CAPE CORAL TAXI CHARGE FOR WAIT TIME? IF SO, HOW IS WAITING TIME CHARGED?

Yes. Waiting time charges may be incurred if a passenger arrives late to a pick-up.  Waiting time is based on the hourly rate for a particular vehicle and is charged at 15-minute increments.

Time spent waiting at additional stops will also be charged as waiting time. Waiting time charges may apply after the complimentary waiting time expires on a round-trip.

We do not charge waiting time for curbside pick-ups at the airport.

Credit Card Payment

MAY I USE MY DEBIT CARD TO PAY FOR A RIDE?

Yes. Debit card will need to have a Visa logo.

MAY I CHANGE MY FORM OF PAYMENT AT THE END OF THE TRIP?

Yes.

MY CARD WILL NOT BE IN THE VEHICLE FOR THE DRIVER, WHAT CAN I DO?

If you would like to pay by credit card but the card will not be present at the time of the ride, you may pay by phone in advance.

You may also pre-pay for a trip by calling 239-945-2222 7 days a week 6-10 pm. We accept cash, as well as American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards.
